Data Engineer

We are seeking analytics engineers to join our data platform team. The data platform team is responsible for maintaining the current data analytics infrastructure as well as overseeing the design and development of future products to enable AI, automation, and innovative analytics. The primary duties of an analytics engineer include designing data models, gathering information from the Business teams’ requirements, developing, and maintaining data documentation, communicating results, and collaborating with data team members. Analytics engineers deliver well-defined, transformed, tested, documented, and code-reviewed data sets. An analytics engineer's primary purpose and tasks aim to increase communication and understanding between data teams and clients (BOD, Business, Consumer Products, Finance, ...).

Analytics Skills: Analytics engineers require an understanding of data analysis principles and formulas. Possessing data analysis skills allows you to create effective, accurate and concise models that communicate the information and meaning of a dataset.

Data Translator: Highly effective communicators who can transform data findings into recommendations to compose reports and executive-level presentations.

Data Platform Builder: Data engineering skills & Data modelling, Using software development best practices like code review, continuous integration, and continuous delivery (CI/CD), release management, and version control.

What you’d contribute:

● Provide clean, transformed data ready for analysis, modelling.

● Maintain data, documentation & definitions.

● Collaborating with cross-functional teams and other data professionals to define business goals and set parameters to measure analytics outcomes.

● Designing data models, as well as, developing and maintaining data pipelines.

● Creating and maintaining data storage systems.

● Developing documentation for data pipelines and storage systems.

● Developing software to implement data reporting.

● Troubleshooting and debugging data system errors.

● Embracing new technology and staying up to date with industry best practices to continuously improve data analysis skills.

What you’d have to succeed for the role:

● University Graduate, major: Computer Science, IT, Mathematics, or related fields.

● Strong programming capabilities: SQL and Python/R/Scala.

● Efficient problem-solving and analytical skills.

● Database management and data modeling skills: Familiar with SQL and NoSQL databases.

● Data warehousing and ETL: In-depth understanding of data warehousing concepts, as well as, experience with ETL (extract, transform, load) tools and processes is essential to designing data pipelines.

● Cloud computing: An understanding of cloud computing platforms such as GCP may be important for building and maintaining data storage systems.

● Good communication and collaboration skills.

● An ability to problem-solve and work through data issues.
